Who are Explorers?
Explorers are a go-getting group of young people aged 14 to 18. Together, they make up the fourth section of the Scouts.
Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Units to try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world.
Our Units
We have 4 units in our district:
- Endurance ESSU (Sea Scouts) – Weaverham
- Hartford ESU – Hartford
- Martlet ESU – Winnington

Young Leaders
The Young Leaders Scheme is part of Explorers. Explorers can help out in a section (Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, or Scouts), gaining leadership skills, whilst volunteering.
This volunteering counts towards Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) awards, Chief Scouts Awards, and the Queen’s Scout Award.
